Orfitrans Excel from Allied O&P Supply is a new polyethylene (PE) copolymer for ankle and foot orthoses and flexible prosthetic sockets and liners. It comes in black or semitransparent. It has a very low friction that is not tacky or sticky to the mold, pulls very easily and uniformly, has a smooth surface finish, and buffs easily. Orfitrans Excel is lighter in weight than most comparable materials. It does not have shrinkage issues, will not cold flow, does not experience discoloration, resists wrinkling, and is very stable over time. It has a tensile strength of 18.2 MPa, shore D hardness of 31, and density of .885 g/cm3.
