The Owings Mills, MD-based Board of Certification/Accreditation (BOC) announced in October that it’s accepting applications for a new pharmacy compounding accreditation.

The accreditation will focus solely focus on nonsterile compounding and is only available in conjunction with BOC Retail or Retail + DMEPOS (durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics, and supplies) accreditation. BOC’s compounding three-year accreditation is based on the US Pharmacopeial Convention (USP) guidelines, federal regulations and third-party payer requirements, according to a BOC release.

Those interested in applying for the accreditation can visit bocusa.org/pharmacy to review the BOC Compounding Accreditation Standards, complete an application, and access other resources, including site survey checklists.
