The Foundation for Physical Therapy launched the public phase of its campaign to establish a center of excellence in health services at its annual gala, held in late June at the American Physical Therapy Association’s (APTA) Conference and Exposition in Salt Lake City.

The center’s mission will be expanding the ranks of physical therapy scientists working in health services and policy.

The campaign for the five-year initiative has already raised $1.7 million toward its $3 million goal. Its progress so far is due in large part to a leadership pledge of $1 million from APTA, according to the foundation.
