An over-the-counter, portable electronic muscle stimulator, the Compex Performance US features technology approved by the Food and Drug Administration in 2002. The product utilizes neuromuscular electrical muscle stimulation (NMES) to exercise more muscle fibers in less time by reproducing the body’s natural process of voluntary muscular contractions with high-intensity electrical impulses. The device features five programs that target specific muscle groups: Endurance, Resistance, Strength, Active Recovery, and Pre-Warm up.
