Adult and pediatric patients with gross lower extremity weakness and knee instability have a new Adjustable Dynamic Response (ADR) option. The ADR knee ankle foot orthosis (KAFO), featuring the UltraSafeStep KO knee component, is designed to address quadricep weakness or lever arm extensor dysfunction. The device provides safe stance control without knee locking, with an adjustable stance response angle from 0° to 30°, and prevents knee buckling from sit-to-standing with ratchet support from 120° flexion to full extension. The sit-to-stand slide lock/safety release is easy to engage.
