Delcam has launched a new version of its design software for custom orthotic insoles developed specifically for accommodative foot orthoses. The new “real-time design” version of OrthoModel will benefit practitioners treating patients with diabetes and others needing insoles made of softer materials like ethyl vinyl acetate (EVA). The design of the orthosis, created automatically from the prescription and scan of the foot, can be visualized and modified in real time. Sculpting, cuts, and additions, such as metatarsal domes to provide relief for ulcerated regions, can be added at any stage of the process.
