Hatfield Strap

The Hatfield Strap was created by former Kansas City Royals trainer Keith Hatfield, ATC, to combine the benefits of a night splint and an incline board for patients with plantar fasciitis. Used in a seated position, the 4-in wide strap spreads the force of the stretch across the width of the foot and pulls the toes back for a complete stretch of the plantar fascia. Large rigid handles minimize pressure on the hands as a stretch becomes more intense. Leg and shoulder straps facilitate calf and hamstring stretches, also from a seated position, in which the weight of the user’s body does the heavy lifting.
