Zimmerman Shoes, Orwigsburg, Pennsylvania, the United States’ oldest manufacturer of children’s shoes, has acquired Markell Shoe Company, Yonkers, New York, an orthopedic and corrective footwear manufacturer. The acquistion enhances Zimmerman Shoes’ product portfolio and strengthens its position in the industry. Production of Markell-branded shoes will continue at the Zimmerman Shoes facility in Orwigsburg, ensuring continuity for retailers, healthcare providers, and customers. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
