About LER
Lower Extremity Review
About Us
Our Mission
Welcome to Lower Extremity Review or, as we call it, LER. Our mission is to showcase evidence and expertise across multiple medical disciplines to build, preserve, and restore function of the lower extremity from pediatrics to geriatrics.
Keeping the lower extremity healthy and functioning is what LER readers do. Our readers don’t come from one discipline, they come from many: Podiatry, Sports Medicine, Orthopedics, Physical Therapy, Orthotics & Prosthetics, Pedorthics, Athletic Training, and Wound Care. Our multidisciplinary clinicians are at the forefront of providing care to patients who don’t meet textbook definitions, whose care is complex because their lower extremity is unique, and whose product needs are ever-changing as they age. LER gathers the voices of the entire multidisciplinary healthcare team in one place. Our purpose is to provide our diverse audience with thought-provoking, evidence-based content that is rooted, not in academic silos, but in 3 foundational pillars:
- Biomechanics matter
- Prevention works
- Collaborative care leads to better outcomes
The LER team brings more than 60 years of combined experience in multidisciplinary healthcare editorial development and publishing to build content that bridges the gap between multidisciplinary clinicians as well as between manufacturers and practitioners. We offer content through a variety of channels:
- lerMagazine.com publishes evidence-based articles and opinion pieces of clinical import
- lerEXPO.com hosts live and recorded medical education events with international experts
- lerMarketplace.com offers readers the opportunity to interact with manufacturers’ goods and services in a dynamic, interactive, virtual environment 24/7/365.
- lerEducate
- lerExpert

Company Bios
Richard Dubin
Founder and Publisher
Richard Dubin has started four successful magazines for the medical, consumer health and technology marketplaces. He has been involved in every aspect of the medical publishing industry for 30 years. He started in the early ‘90s with Current Podiatry, moved to Podiatry Today, then created BioMechanics to deliver a multi-disciplinary audience. When BioMechanics was shuttered, Rich pivoted to create Lower Extremity Review as a way to continue to serve and build the lower extremity niche addressing the needs of Podiatry, Sports Medicine, Orthopedics, Physical Therapy, Orthotics & Prosthetics, Pedorthics, Athletic Training, and Wound Care, but also bringing in expert voices from vascular medicine, lymphatics, and sports technology. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, Rich doubled-down on a decade long dream to build an online meetings experience with a digital exhibit hall and thus lerEXPO and lerMARKETPLACE were launched in record time, with the first events in fall of 2020. Indeed, Rich brings his industry expertise to life as the host of countless lerEXPO events. Rich is an avid basketball player.
