Sigvaris taps new head of US operations

International medical device developer and distributor Sigvaris, headquartered in Winterthur, Switzerland, named Scot J. Dubè president and CEO of Sigvaris North America, based in Peachtree City, GA.

He takes on the roles filled for 14 years by Charles E. Handschin, who retired from the company in November 2013.

Dubè has more than 25 years of medical device industry experience, along with pharmaceutical and telemedicine expertise and proven success in the areas of business-to-business, durable medical equipment, and integrated healthcare systems, according to a statement from Sigvaris.

The company is known for its medical compression devices, and last month the Science Channel featured Sigvaris on its television show, “How It’s Made,” taking viewers behind the scenes at the Peachtree City manufacturing facility for a look at the company’s process for making graduated compression socks and hosiery.
