Pacers use PhysiMax for injury prevention

Indianapolis, IN-based PhysiMax Technologies in December announced the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) Indiana Pacers will use its real-time visual analysis technology to assess player injury risk.

PhysiMax’s cloud-based technology incorporates elements of computer vision and machine learning-based algorithms to automatically analyze full-body dynamic movement parameters and instantly score jumping and landing patterns, pelvic and trunk stabilization, symmetry of motion, dynamic balance, and other measures.

The team will also use PhysiMax to help measure the biomechanical impact of high training loads throughout an NBA season. Before fully deploying the technology, the Pacers used PhysiMax to evaluate players leading up to the 2016 NBA Draft.
