OrthoCarolina partners in sports facility

Franklin, TN-based D1 Sports Holdings announced in February a partnership with OrthoCarolina, an orthopedic care provider with multiple locations in North Carolina and South Carolina, Carolina Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith, and two other National Football League athletes to open a D1 Sports Training facility in Matthews, a suburb of Charlotte, NC.

The 20,000-plus square foot sports training and therapy facility is scheduled to open this spring and will feature an indoor-outdoor turf field, collegiate-style weight room, and an OrthoCarolina physical therapy clinic focused on treating athletes and athletic injuries.

D1 Sports Holdings currently has 23 locations, 20 with professional athlete, sports medicine, and in-house therapy partners, offering high-level training to clients aged 7 years and older. Smith is also co-owner of D1’s Greenville, SC-based facility.
