On September 23, Markham, Ontario-based Orthotic Holdings, Inc., a leading lower extremity orthotic company, acquired Arizona AFO, which is the third franchise brand under the OHI umbrella, alongside The Orthotic Group, also headquartered in Markham, and Ronkonkoma, NY-based Langer Biomechanics. OHI acquired The Orthotic Group and Langer Biomechanics in 2008, adding River Biomechanics last summer.
OHI representatives said Arizona AFO, which has about 40 employees, will remain an independent brand, retain its current management and technical teams, and continue manufacturing devices in its Mesa, AZ, location.
OHI Executive Vice President Jason Kraus will provide strategic and business development support to the Arizona management team. Kraus noted, “Arizona has everything going for it: high quality products, enthusiastic, loyal customers, committed employees, and a focus on patient outcomes. These perfectly mirror the core values of the organization as a whole and we are proud to add them to the OHI family.”
Bruce Marrison, president and CEO of OHI, said, “Arizona AFO is the leading producer of custom-made AFO devices in North America and is a natural extension of our organization. Arizona’s products and customers are a perfect fit with OHI and we couldn’t be more excited to add them to our dynamic and growing company.”
