An international scientific group has published its final consensus document on plantar pressure measurement devices. The Pedobarographic Group of the International Foot and Ankle Biomechanics (i-FAB-PG) released the paper in July, presenting the group’s consensus on the definition and standardization of tools and protocols for the technical assessment of PMD hardware performance.
Lead author Claudia Giacomozzi, PhD, of the Italian National Institute of Health, Rome, said the document is “a relevant first step for regulatory and scientific activities…on the specific topic of PMD technical assessment at a very general level, also including wearable and innovative pressure sensors.”
