GAITRite-CIR names Ross award winner

Evan T. Cohen, PT, MA, NCS, received the first Ellen C. Ross memorial award, established by GAITRite-CIR Systems to honor the former professor and director of Post-Professional Physical Therapy Education at the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ).

The award will fund Cohen’s research on dual task performance during walking in older adults. The award is intended to memorialize Ross as a beloved mentor with a passion for quality healthcare delivery, especially in the areas of prosthetics, evidence based practice and clinical decision making, according to Michael Rowling of CIR Systems. Ross died of cancer in July 2007 at the age of 50.
