The nonprofit Dralla Foundation, established last year by Rockaway, NJ-based Allard USA, has set a May 1 deadline for 2012 grant requests. The foundation awarded 13 inaugural grants in 2001, its first year. Awardees further the foundation’s mission of providing “support for better life to enrich the lives of children and adults with disabilities, by helping them to fulfill their dreams or visions.”
Allard USA President Peter Allard launched the Dralla Foundation with the intention of giving back to the community of individuals who struggle with disability. This year Dralla will hold only one review period and grants will be awarded in July. Organizations tapped by Dralla for 2011 grants were: Achilles International, Camp Summit, Bay Area Outreach and Recreation Program, Allegro Foundation, Ivey Ranch Park Association, World T.E.A.M. Sports, Center for Independent Futures, Assisted Cycling Tours, Sports for Exceptional Athletes, The Arc of Dallas, I.D.E.A.S., VSA Ohio, and Maryland Ravens.
