Cadence Kickstart enters Korean market

Seattle-based Cadence Biomedical inked a distribution agreement on March 6 with a Korean medical device importer for the US company’s KickstartPT and KickstartPersonal systems.

LM, headquartered in Seoul, is the exclusive Korean distributor for the systems, which help patients relearn walking following stroke, incomplete spinal cord injury, or other neurological conditions. The KickstartPT, an adjustable clinical model used in rehabilitation facilities, and the KickstartPersonal, designed for use in home and community
settings, provide nonelectronic walking assistance with an exotendon technology that stores and returns energy to provide support, stability, and assistance to weakened muscles.

Papers presented at the Combined Sections Meeting of the American Physical Therapy Association in Las Vegas in February found that the Kickstart system improved walking in patients with gait impairments.
