The TORCH (total contact orthotic restraining custom hybrid) Walker from ComfortFit Labs combines the support and positioning of a traditional ankle foot orthosis with the accommodation and functionality of custom footwear. A triple density custom insole, which relieves plantar pressures and increases comfort, and a rocker bottom with a SACH (solid ankle cushion heel) are standard. A soft foam-padded collar decreases posterior proximal pressure. The TORCH is fully adjustable to optimize fit, even in patients with fluctuating edema, and can include a multitude of diagnosis-specific modifications.
