Med Spec has updated its line with the new, lower profile Phantom Dorsal Night Splint. Its reduced medial and lateral aspects enhance patient compliance and reduce contact with the opposing leg during sleep. The adjustable toe strap lifts the hallux to a more optimum degree of dorsiflexion and, along with an elastic band under midfoot, provides greater tension on the plantar fascia. Further adjustability is offered by the padded dorsal aluminum stays that can be bent to increase or decrease dorsiflexion. The sole’s nonskid base provides traction to help patients who need to ambulate during the night.
