The Platinum Sound AFO and the Foot Drop Splint from PAL Health Technologies follow PAL’s new approach to drop foot and equinus treatment. The noncustom Foot Drop Splint (from PAL’s Transition Ankle line) is a lightweight injection-molded polypropylene brace with dorsiflexion assist. The variable-thickness device is strong but easily modified. The Platinum Sound (from PAL’s Element 78 AFO line) also has a polypropylene shell and comes in posterior leaf spring, solid, and semi-solid profiles. The device allows for intrinsic posting and varus/valgus correction; its foot plate can be adjusted to various lengths.

my 2 yr old grandson has foot drop…using a afo….where can we get shoes to make it easier to get his foot in, or is there a shoe horn type thing that would work?
Hi Evelyn,
SureStep has shoes that were specially designed to be worn with orthotics. They are wider and deeper than typical athletic shoes. You can purchase these shoes on our website at http://www.surestep.net. Our retail price is $40 plus shipping. Please feel free to contact us directly should you have any questions.
Thanks.
