The Indian Uttar Pradesh Madhumeh Association is sponsoring the Diabetes Update for Clinicians (DUFC) conference to help advance clinician education in South Asia, where there are no colleges of podiatric medicine and few opportunities for structured training in foot care. The conference will take place on October 16 in Lucknow, India.
DUFC conference faculty includes international experts from both the developing and developed world who will present a global view of the problems and solutions involved in diabetic foot care. Sessions will be led by specialists in podiatry, O&P, diabetes care, vascular and plastic surgery, anesthesiology, and endocrinology. The event will cover the basics of diabetic foot care as well as advanced management techniques in foot and ankle surgery, and will also include three hands-on workshops focusing on examination, investigation, and management of the diabetic foot.

Its good that developing countries are beginning to take diabetic foot conditions seriously. There is a range of products out there now that are beneficial and prevent amputations. There are many podiatrists that are skilled in treatment other than cutting off limbs.
