Pressure experts discuss standards

Researchers, engineers, and practitioners interested in gait analysis convened at the i-FAB meeting in Seattle to discuss and refine an international consensus statement on standardization of  pressure measurement devices that is currently in development.

The initiative, which has the support of multiple manufacturers of pressure measurement systems, was launched in May by Claudia Giacomozzi, PhD, a senior researcher at the Italian Institute of Health (ISS) in Rome. Its objective is to standardize technical assessment, acquisition protocols and post-processing protocols for more accurate comparisons of study findings and clinical outcomes.
