Pekin, IL-based PAL Health Technologies announced in August the release of Version 3 of its XtremityOne software for computer-assisted orthotic management of diabetic foot ulcers.

XtremityOne is a portable, integrated unit that captures scanned foot images, allows for image manipulation in two or three dimensions, and facilitates immediate electronic order submission for orthotics, diabetic inserts, and/or shoes.

Updates from previous versions of the software include improved formatting, increased
accuracy (150 points of measurement per square inch), the ability to print a 1:1 image (preferred by Medicare for documentation), the ability to view the previous scans side by side in a thumbnail view, and a patient demo function that shows different views of the feet in an animated mode.
