Kinematix offers wearable O&P tracker

Kinematix, which has a US office in Cambridge, MA, released on October 3 a wearable sensing device that can be embedded in orthotic and prosthetic devices to measure wear-time compliance and provide evidence of clinical efficacy.

The Orthomonitor combines sensor technologies, wireless communication, and a user-friendly app to increase patient engagement and shorten treatment cycles while supporting reimbursement.

The device continuously analyses and reports activity, including strides, cadence, and periods of use, and can provide documentation and device utilization justification to address payer demand for evidence of clinical efficacy and patients’ return to function, according to the company, which also has locations in Portugal and the Netherlands.
